Lumbar Spine MRI Pictures

Below are pictures of two different scan postions for a Lumbar spine MRI.  In the first two pictures I am positioned feet first for scanning.  This option is not available on all MRI's so check with your technologist.  In the last two pictures I am positioned head first.  In both instances my head is at the same place relative to the outside of the machine but in the feet first position my head did not have to travel through the scanner.  Also remember that this is a wide bore MRI (it's also a super-short bore) and many/most MRI's are not this open.  If you are claustrophobic it will be in your best interest to find one of these machines in your area.
